New COVID restrictions

New restrictions as of October 8, 2021

New restrictions that will take place as of October 8, 2021 and what it means for ATV clubs and members:

We have had many questions in regards to the new Covid-19 restrictions that will come into effect Friday, October 8 at 6 :30 pm, and what it will mean for clubs regarding ATV runs and activities.  This is the information we gathered according to our contact at the Dept. of Public Safety regarding ATV activities:

In summary, for formal activities organized by a recognized company or organization, the activity could still take place IF the club has a COVID operational plan and IF they check for proof of double vaccination and a piece of I.D of all the participants and organizers.  This includes the people who live in the circuit-breaker zones. A record of names and contact information would also need to be kept.

If you would like to find out which municipalities in zones 2, 3 and 4 are included in the regions affected by the circuit breaker, you can click here.

In regards to shelters, here is the information that we gathered from our contact person at the Dept. of Public Safety.

Unless otherwise indicated, if there is no organized activity, the shelters can remain open only on a 'when needed’ basis, such as emergencies. But there needs to be appropriate posters indicating the rules for social distancing, mask wearing, etc., with hand sanitizers and surface disinfectant left at people’s disposal.

Please remember that private indoor and outdoor gatherings are not permitted outside your one household bubble (with a few exceptions.) Please view the information provided at the bottom of the page in the link below.

If the club organizes an ATV activity where there could be a gathering of people, then posters and hand sanitizers & disinfectants would not be sufficient. The shelters could only be used if there was a designated person guarding the door who would be responsible for checking that everyone has proof of double vaccination and a piece of I.D., and respected safety measures such as social distancing, etc.

We will keep you posted as new developments occur.

“Travel to or from circuit breaker regions is restricted, except for those who must travel for essential reasons, including work, health services, child custody, childcare or post-secondary education, or travel to events where proof of vaccination is required.”

It is safe to assume this is the case for ATV travel as well.

In the meantime, for more information, you can also click on the following here.

These restrictions come into effect as of Friday, October 8, 2021 at 6:00pm until Monday, October 11, 2021 at 11:59pm for the entire province.

Those who live in the circuit breaker regions will be affected for 14 days beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021.
