Forests are our playground – where we ride, explore and enjoy the great outdoors. Forests also keep New Brunswick strong – supporting jobs, local businesses, and the services we all rely on.

A recent economic report shows how the forest sector benefits communities across the province. The numbers tell the story:
- Jobs and income: Forestry supports over 26,000 jobs across New Brunswick –about 1 in 17 workers. These are good-paying jobs that help families thrive.
- Local services: In 2024, forestry generated $656 million in provincial and municipal tax revenues – helping fund schools, roads, healthcare, and more.
- Every corner benefits: With 1,285 firms operating in the sector, 70% of NB communities have at least one forest-related business.
- Forests for the future: Forests are a renewable resource. In working forests, trees can be continuously harvested and regrown, so the forest – and the benefits they bring – will be here for generations.
Almost every part of New Brunswick,
from the largest cities to the smallest hamlets,
is positively impacted by the forest products industry.”
